Freedom vs Fascism: The Multi-Polarity Of Narratives & The Quest For Truth
How to cut through the propaganda and noise, in order to free our minds, and liberate our world
“The virus, is harmful; but the destruction of rights, is fatal. This is a permanent thing, that we don’t get back…. This becomes a culture of safety at all costs. If there is any imaginable risk, we must reduce it to the minimal imaginable level - at any possible price. This is fundamentally in conflict, I believe, with the concept of a free and open society….If we begin by destroying rights, in order to improve things, we’re actually making things worse.”
- Edward Snowden, March 2020
The Central Question Of Our Time
Now that the ideological fervor has reached a fever pitch, anyone who even dares to question the official narrative, is automatically branded as a “conspiracy theorist”. (An essentially hollow, meaningless term, which in Chomsky’s view, is used to “poo-poo institutional analysis”. It is, therefore, a decidedly anti-intellectual, and anti-empirical term of reference, used only by the sloppiest and most dogmatic of “thinkers”.) In fact, with the ideological zealotry and group-think running at such extremely dangerous, high levels, anyone who disagrees with you, is automatically a conspiracy theorist. This is not only patently irrational, and pathological - it is also extremely dangerous.
Mass formation has now arrived. But I will leave that to the clinical psychologists to explain what exactly that means. (A link is included in the footnotes, below.) In brief, it means that roughly 30% of the population has become incapable of rational thought - and because of their irrational zealotry, another 40% are afraid to say anything. That is an extremely dangerous situation, which we have seen before, as the clinical psychologists who have studied it in depth have said: most notably, as they have documented, we saw it in the Soviet Union, and in the rise of Nazi Germany. These parallels should make us stop and question, what is going on?
By the way, for reasons well understood and well explained by the clinical psychologists, the 30% who are caught up in ideological fanaticism, mass formation and hysteria, become extremely intolerant and hostile towards anyone who disagrees with them - and their free-floating discontent, anger and aggression, which was one of the precursors and preconditions for their lapse into mass psychosis, becomes hyper-focused on anyone who questions their holy dogma and their fervent beliefs. To say this is deeply ominous, would be a great understatement.
In other words, it is the non-compliant, the critical thinkers, the independent thinkers and the dissidents, who are targeted for hate, and possibly incarceration or destruction. How convenient is that for a neo-fascist cabal of billionaires and their cronies? It is a match made in hell.
Normally it is not possible for 30% of the people to terrorize or tyrannize 70% of the population, except under certain circumstances. One way it can be done, is through overt slavery. Another way is through what clinical psychologists call mass formation - which is exactly the same as hypnosis, but on a mass scale. When the 30% who have become fanatical have the power elite on their side, then yes, it becomes possible for a minority to tyrannize the majority: that is mass formation, and it is the precondition and the prelude to totalitarianism.
Or to be more accurate, when powerful individuals and elite groups manage to whip 30% of the people into hysteria, then it becomes possible for a fanatical minority to tyrannize, and to terrorize, an otherwise basically rational, great majority. And that is exactly what is happening now. The signs are deeply ominous, but the narrative underlying the fanaticism is crumbling fast.
Clarifying the central issue now, is of the greatest importance. It is basically a deconstruction of ideology, otherwise known as narratives, which must be done. Basically, we need to do what Emerson described, which is to hold up a mirror to society. This is now critically important.

The central question at this time, in the midst of what governments themselves are calling The Covid War, is not how we assess the genuine threat level of the virus, nor how we assess the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines - or the lockdowns, the mask mandates, the mass house arrests, the no-fly lists, the requirement for travel papers, exactly as in Nazi Germany, the censorship which is coming to rival that of Communist Russia, the vaccine passports, the digital ID system, the social credit system that is being rolled out, or any of the other authoritarian measures now in place, or alternately being turned on and off, in a mass programming campaign of global psyops and psychological warfare, tracing back to the presently ruling global corporate elite. The central question has nothing to do with whether you think that the coronavirus is an “unprecedented” pandemic, worse than any pandemic in history (a delusional notion, easily disproved by anyone with a glimmer of historical knowledge), or whether you believe it is on the level of the common flu (which the scientific data now confirms beyond any doubt). The central question has nothing to do with whether you are pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine, or whether you take an intelligent response based on the data and evidence pertaining to specific vaccines, and their safety and effectiveness (which is the only sane or rational approach). It has nothing to do with any of that.
The central question, is whether you believe that basic, universal human rights are important, maybe even fundamental, or whether you believe they can be suspended or abolished, in a time of crisis and fear. If you choose the latter, then God help you, and God help us all.
If you have any doubt or uncertainty, or if you are at all interested in the truth, or in dealing with reality, as I am sure most people reading this are, then please read on.
The central battle line which is forming around the globe, is not between anti-vaxxers and “the rest of us”. It is between those who understand the fundamental value of freedom and human rights, along with the value of constitutional democracy, and those who do not, and who instead, unwittingly support a slide into fascism, or a Soviet/Chinese style state-capitalist totalitarianism, that will put Kim Jong-un and Chairman Mao to shame, in its unrivalled technocratic domination over humanity and the Earth. Do you believe in constitutional democracy, freedom and human rights, or do you not? If you are ambiguous, or uncertain, then we are all in grave danger.
What we are being told, in essence, is that we are facing a crisis, an emergency, and because it is an emergency, because there is grave danger, therefore, we must suspend basic human rights and constitutional rule. Note that Hitler was elected, and he too, used exactly the same argument, to suspend human rights and freedoms, along with constitutional rule and democracy, saying that it was necessary and unavoidable, because of the great danger the people faced, and assuring the people that this would be a temporary measure. It was not. It led to fascism, and it was only ended when fascism was defeated, in WWII - after 50 million people were killed, including six million killed in the Nazi concentration camps.
What the great majority of people do not understand, is that it took more than 800 years of struggle, for us to have the basic human rights, freedom, democracy, and constitutional rule which we now enjoy, and which we have clearly taken for granted - all of which, we are losing now.
The price of freedom and democracy, truly is eternal vigilance. Unfortunately, the great majority most obviously failed Civics 101, have failed to learn anything at all from history, and have obviously been more asleep than awake, for their whole lives - and they remain so; although, an awakening is spreading around the world - and that is a contagion that the elite and their hapless followers cannot stop. Like the virus itself, the awakening is unstoppable, and it is here to stay.
However, the gravity of the situation must not be underestimated. We are losing our rights, our freedom, our constitutional protections, and our democracy. If we allow people to be coerced into taking an experimental drug, or any medical procedure, against their will, without their uncoerced, voluntary and informed consent, then we are not only in violation of the Nuremberg Code, and virtually all constitutions, including the US Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We are not only guilty of, and complicit in, crimes against humanity, for which people were hung, after the Nuremberg Trials. We are guilty of, and complicit in, the destruction of 800 years of constitutional law, which is the basis of all law, dating back to the Magna Carta, in 1215. We are then guilty of an act, or are actively complicit in an act, which we support either by our silence, or by our active involvement, which will abolish all human rights, as well as all constitutional law, taking us literally back to the Dark Ages, when kings and governments could do anything they wanted, because the people were viewed as having no rights whatsoever.
The foundation for all human rights, and hence, for all constitutional law, and hence, all rule of law, dating back to the Magna Carta, is the sovereignty of a person over his or her own body and mind.
When you say that people have no right to decide what happens with their own body, then they have no rights at all, and there is no constitutional rule of law left, nor rule of law of any kind. At that point, we have rule by decree. And at that point, we are literally back in the Dark Ages - and moreover, abuses of power and atrocities are then, not only possible, but become inevitable.
So the central question is, do you stand up for universal human rights, along with constitutional democracy and freedom, or do you support the government being able to do anything it chooses, to you or to anyone else? If you choose the latter, then you choose Communism, and we will become the Soviet Union, 2.0 - or the next incarnation of the Third Reich, and fascism. And no, this is no slightest exaggeration. The stakes are quite literally, indeed that high.
Can I make this any more clear?
This is not about whether you think that covid is the greatest plague in human history, or whether it has been exaggerated. This is not about whether you support vaccine use as a legitimate medical practice. It’s not about whether you are pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine, or if you take an intelligent position of assessing individual vaccines and other drugs on a case by case basis. It’s about whether you believe in basic, fundamental human rights, or whether you feel it is acceptable that we lose these incomparably priceless and fundamental, hard-won treasures of humankind, in pursuit of an imagined gain in safety, security, or convenience.
I would say that no possible benefit, real or imagined, can ever compensate us adequately, or even remotely, for the loss of freedom, constitutional democracy, and our basic, and fundamental, human rights. In a century, if it takes that long for the majority to wake up to what is going on, they too, will come to realize this central fact. Let us pray they have more basic sanity and common sense than that. Let us pray their awakening to the grim realities at hand, is swift. The future of humanity now depends upon it.
*
But again, whatever your current views on these subjects may be, if you value the truth over fiction, lies, propaganda and delusion, then please read on. We are only at the beginning of the discussion. There is much yet to be discussed and to be reflected upon. And for the minority who are already well-versed and well-informed on many of these subjects, I would urge you to also read on, because there are going to be points made in the following meditation, or essay, which will be invaluable, I can assure you. Please bear with us, when we are forced to repeat already known facts, for the benefit of the great majority who are still either sound asleep, or who are just waking up, and beginning to question the official narratives now. And yes, this has to do with far more than just covid, although that is one, obviously important, and in fact dominant, narrative to be examined at this time.
Remember, The narrative is everything. If we do not question it, then we are indeed mere sheep - or cattle led to slaughter. It is narratives, stories, which inform us of what is real, what is true, what is virtuous or good, what is noble, what is ethical, what is meaningful, how we should live, how we should think, what we should or should not believe. That is the power of myth. And as the world’s greatest scholar on mythology, Joseph Campbell made clear, when mythology is used in intelligent and honest ways, then it is liberating, life-enriching, life-affirming, and life-renewing. Mythology, which means simply, the narratives we tell ourselves, or the narratives that we accept, is extraordinarily powerful. If we are unwilling to question the myths and the narratives of our society or our time, then we are in great and tremendous peril, even while we naively assume we are perfectly safe - because the narratives that prevail in a given time, can be deceitful, or simply delusional. Look at the witch trials. Look at the Inquisition. Look at the pogroms. Look at the rise of the Nazis, or the Soviet Union. It was the power of a deceitful or delusional narrative which led to such horrors. And such horrors are going to come to us again, and soon, if we refuse to question the narratives of our time.
As a wise man once said, “The truth shall set you free.” Who now has the courage for the truth? It needs to be a growing number of us, and fortunately it is. Otherwise, we are all quite simply doomed - doomed to repeat the worst horrors of our past, yet once again.
Question everything. Think for yourself.
And do read on. There is much more for us to uncover, and to plumb.
But does this have a happy ending? Well, that’s obviously up to us to determine, now isn’t it?
The power is in your hands.
The future of humanity is now in the hands of us all.
Let us use our power wisely, and now.
Our children, our grandchildren, and the future of all life on Earth, truly rests on whether we have the courage to deal with reality now, or whether we shrink from it in cowardice. That will determine humanity’s fate: not the evil actions of a few men and women, but whether, in a time of crisis, humanity decides, as it has many times in the past, to muster the courage, and to find its spine.
It’s now or never.
But before we act, we should at least know first what is going on. Only then can we determine what must be done. And we cannot assume that we already know, or understand. That is the entire problem!
First, we begin to truly understand the problem: then only, can we begin to have an intelligent solution. Truth comes first. All else proceeds from that. Otherwise, it is a case of the blind leading the blind - and we will all fall into an abyss.

Follow the science, you say? Alright, let’s look at the actual data.
By official figures, 4.3 million people have died globally from covid in 2020-2021. That’s just over two million deaths per year, by official figures. Any preventable death is tragic, but perspective is critical, lest we lose our minds, as has clearly happened with a large percentage of the population.
Two million deaths per year from covid... meanwhile, seven million people die a year from air pollution, another seven million from hunger, and more than seven million from obesity. Roughly nine million people died per year in WWII. Today, we have 21 million people dying a year from air pollution, hunger and obesity combined. That is a global slaughter.
21 million deaths from these three biggest killers, compared to two million deaths per year from covid, according to official covid figures. Note also that the CDC itself quietly admitted on its website that 94% of reported covid deaths were not deaths from covid, but deaths with covid. People were already dying of cancer or old age, when they contracted covid. Covid did not kill them. Cancer did. Or old age did.
That means the real mortality rate of covid comes to just 6% of the official figures, or just over 100,000 deaths per year globally. Again compare 100,000 deaths per year from covid, versus 21 million deaths per year from air pollution, hunger and obesity.
That means that the greatest dangers, and the greatest killers, which are pollution, hunger and obesity, kill 200 times more people every year than covid.
But we are not at all serious about air pollution, hunger, or public health, as our actions prove. The US elite continuously tell the people they cannot even have a basic universal public health system, and most other governments of the West have been quietly slashing health care budgets for decades. The lie should be readily transparent. The elite, if they are motivated at all by concerns for public health, are lying to themselves, obviously, and more to the point, they are all signed on to a billionaire-driven agenda that is all about power, and has nothing whatsoever to do with human health.
The people, or at least 70% of the people, have, meanwhile, lost their minds over what statistically amounts, very literally and very precisely, to a bad case of the flu - which, strangely enough, killed the same number of people every year as did covid, or more, until 2020, when the flu miraculously disappeared, and suddenly, the 200,000-600,000 deaths per year from the flu, vanished, with no explanation. It would take a functionally brain-dead person, not to be able to see the obvious conclusion.
The only sensible conclusion is that: (a) the great majority of people have been terrified, literally out of their wits, and have become irrational, delusional, paranoid, and dissociated from reality - which is the clinical definition of psychosis, by the way (think of the witch trials, or the Inquisition, or a cult, which is what Covidianism has literally become); and (b) the political and business elite are utilizing and exploiting a relatively minor public health crisis, for their own political and economic purposes, to increase their already greatly excessive power and wealth.
I actually heard a good friend say about someone, just a few days ago, “He’s a covid non-believer.” It’s getting pretty blatantly cultish out there. But the big danger, is the cultish group-think, irrationality and indoctrination, known in clinical psychology as mass formation, or mass psychosis, combined with sheer power-lust on the part of the elite. Only when these two things come together, are the preconditions to totalitarianism met. And they are now clearly met. This is the Soviet Union 2.0 - bigger, meaner, and global.
Furthermore, it is no “conspiracy theory” to suggest the obvious: that a real crisis is being cynically used by big business and the state for political and economic purposes. We simply have to look at what the founder of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, has said and written himself. And remember that the leading business journal in the Western hemisphere, the Financial Times, has itself called the World Economic Forum at Davos “the de facto world government”.
“WEF founder Klaus Schwab is the author of the book COVID-19: The Great Reset, published in July 2020, which argues that the coronavirus pandemic can and should be used for an “economic, societal, geopolitical, environmental and technological reset”, including, in particular, advancing global governance, accelerating digital transformation, and tackling climate change.” - Swiss Policy Research
People such as the once-venerable Naomi Klein have either been corrupted, or have lost their minds, when they say that the Great Reset is a conspiracy theory - meaning, it is a paranoid delusion unsubstantiated by fact, and therefore something we can dismiss without any further examination, or any investigation whatsoever.
Is the Great Reset a conspiracy theory? Obviously not. The founder of the World Economic Forum wrote a book on it, titled, Covid-19: The Great Reset - explicitly stating that the coronavirus can and should be used for a global transformation, or great reset, of human society.
Or you can watch the WEF’s own videos, explicitly stating their vision for humanity in 2030 - “You’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy.” Meaning, of course, that the billionaires, who are the “leaders” of the WEF, will own everything: which also means, they will hold all the power, total power, and the rest of us will be serfs - if we’re lucky.
It is not a theory, nor a secretive conspiracy - it is a publicly announced plan, set in motion by the top 1,000 CEOs and the wealthiest 1,000 individuals on the planet who make up the membership of the WEF. And they brag about it! They are proud of it! They have openly announced their plan to the world! What is theoretical or conspiratorial about it? Maybe 10 or 20 years ago, or 50 years ago, it was a quiet conspiracy among “leading” business and political elites to create a global “governance” system (they don’t like the term global government), with themselves in full control, and to create, in the words of the Rockefeller Foundation’s Lock Step report, “more authoritarian societies”. But now they have made public their plans. Anyone who uses the term conspiracy theory in relation to elite’s exploitation of the current coronavirus crisis, is either a paid propagandist, or else clinically insane.
The virus is real, but the response is incalculably more dangerous than the virus itself.
These are the clear facts. But let’s look more deeply.

As Jesus and the Buddha both said, If the blind lead the blind, they will all fall in a ditch. Well, the blind are leading the blind, and it is no longer a mere ditch that we are about to fall into, but a yawning chasm. Awakening the people, therefore, even in relative terms, has never been more urgent; nor have the stakes ever been so high.
Already in the West, we can see where our current trajectory is clearly leading. Already in Germany, a leading constitutional lawyer has been arrested and sent to psychiatric prison, simply for saying that the lockdowns are unconstitutional. It requires a very dedicated willful ignorance to not see where this is obviously heading. We are rapidly becoming the Soviet Union - or totalitarian Communist China.
I have written about this elsewhere, and in great depth, and I have warned people for three decades that we were heading towards corporate fascism. Now, it is here. But, since roughly 70% of the people still fail to understand what is going on, it clearly bears repeating.
“Most of them are so dependent on the system, so hopelessly inured, that they will fight to defend it.” - Morpheus, in The Matrix
Chilling words, indeed, and prophetic. But let’s try the red pill, instead. Here we go.

As Piers Robinson, Co-Director of the Organization for Propaganda Studies, has made clear, the health crisis surrounding the coronavirus is being used and exploited by political and corporate elites for political and economic purposes - to increase the already greatly excessive powers of both the state and the corporate oligarchy, which, of course, have now merged and fused together.
Professor Anthony J. Hall confirms the view, stating, “The nature of the response to 9/11 emphasized the mercenary ascent of corporate dominance as the primary force directing governments.” And as Piers Robinson, Anthony J. Hall, and many others have documented and clearly shown, the health crisis which surrounds the coronavirus is likewise being exploited, in order to continue and to accelerate and intensify the slow motion global corporate coup which began decades ago, and which was put into high gear with 9/11, and into warp speed with covid.
Anyone who fails to understand this most central of dynamics, has absolutely no idea what is going on in the world. This is a corporate power grab. It is not very difficult to understand. In fact, it takes an infantile degree of naivety, and a great deal of effort, not to see it.
I will repeat only a few key details here, which everyone by now should know and be aware of; but, again, a great majority are blinded by “science” - meaning, they are blinded by the pseudo-science and distortions which are passed off to make the official narrative seem factual and authoritative. For the more alert, bear with me. We shall return to deeper analysis shortly.
For the record: Ivermectin, hydroxycholoroquine and zinc have all been proven over decades to be safe for human use, and furthermore, have now been proven to be a more effective response to the coronavirus than lockdowns, vaccines, and digital vaccine passports. But the former three do not aid in the great, global power grab by the corporate oligarchy, which is now underway, while the latter three do, and are instrumental to it. Clearly, from this evidence alone, we can see that this is not just about health, nor is it even primarily about health. This is about money, and above all, it is about power.
The coronavirus is being used as a pretext for creating a deeply authoritarian, and indeed, totalitarian, new regime for the West, and for the world. Rationalizing and justifying totalitarianism, therefore, either in China or in the West, borders on criminal insanity. Certainly, it is, at best, ill thought-out, and frankly delusional, as well as dangerous in the extreme. But this is what is considered to acceptable and even praiseworthy in the “new normal” - which is a new fascist architecture, supported by mass psychosis and paranoia.
This simple exercise in critical thought, or basic rationality, should be enough to make any reasonably sane human being, begin to question the official narrative, and all official narratives.
But let’s continue.
The International Labour Organization has said that 1.6 billion people will be severely harmed by the lockdowns world-wide. And even this is a conservative estimate. The UN World Food Bank has said that an additional 10% of humanity will be driven to the brink of starvation as a result of the lockdowns. That’s 740 million people being driven to the brink of starvation, caused directly by the lockdowns, which themselves are in response to a virus which, by official estimates, has killed 4.3 million people world-wide. Not only is the cure vastly more destructive than the virus itself, but it leads to the obvious conclusion, that either the elite are functionally insane, or the deeply authoritarian response to covid is being driven by motives other than human health.
We should note also, that the CDC itself has quietly admitted that 94% of reported covid deaths are not actually covid deaths: that’s a 20-fold inflation of covid mortalities, due to the conflation of dying with covid, and dying from covid.
So, if you are already dying from cancer, or a motorcycle accident, or heart disease, and you contract or are suspected of contracting covid, then you are reported as having died from covid - not from the cancer, the accident, or the heart disease, which was the real cause of death. That means, when we adjust the official figures for the CDC’s admission of a 20-fold over-estimate of covid deaths, we are looking at 215,000 covid deaths world-wide. Many more people die from car accidents and fast food, not to mention poverty and hunger, but we’re not banning cars, and we’re not waging war on MacDonald’s, and we’re certainly not demanding the richest 1% use just 5% of the $20 trillion in wealth they have in offshore bank accounts to end poverty and hunger world-wide, which is what it would take. Again, the response is either insane, or else, it is not motivated by concerns for human health.
In addition, tens of millions of small businesses have already gone bankrupt in the US alone, as a result of the lockdowns. The middle class - or what remained of it in 2019, after fifty years of neoliberal globalization, offshoring of production and profits, and straight-forward class warfare - is being systematically wiped out: not by a virus, but by the response to the virus, by the lockdowns.
In the wake of lockdowns, rates of suicide, drug overdoses, domestic violence, murder, assault, car jackings, depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses, have all skyrocketed.
And these are just the effects of the lockdowns. The more nefarious and even more disastrous results will be coming from the total destruction of civil liberties, human rights, constitutional democracy and freedom, and the creation of a global totalitarian police state, which we are now witnessing being instituted by governments and corporate oligarchs world-wide. To fail to question official narratives now, would be tantamount to having brain damage.
*
Truth is truth, and truth means reality - and if we want to be happy, or create a better world, or simply to be intelligent, aware, informed, or even simply sane, then we must seek the truth above all, no matter where it leads. The truth of the matter is often beautiful, and it is sometimes ugly, even terrifying. But if we don’t actively value the truth above all, then our lives and our societies will be delusional, and wracked with serious, recurring, and chronic problems.
This does not mean, however, that we easily get at the truth. It requires work, effort, dedication, and courage. It requires above all, a willingness to place truth above comfort, a willingness to question everything, and a willingness to receptively and thoughtfully listen to a multiplicity of perspectives.
“Truth is like a sliver buried in a foot. It is hard to see, and hard to get out. But truth is truth—one plus one always equals two—and the evidence, or lack of it, will always tell a story.”
- Geopolitics & Empire
That means, we cannot take one narrative and assume that that is the whole truth, or even an accurate portrayal of the truth at all. It means we must listen, and we must be willing to consider many perspectives, and many different narratives, analyses or interpretations. That is how we arrive at an ever closer approximation to, or better understanding of, the truth of a matter. If we are unwilling to do this, then we are truly in grave danger, because, as both the Buddhists and the ancient Greeks realized, it is ignorance which is the root of all evil. Or to be more precise in our terms, it is illusion, and delusion, which are the root of suffering and of evil. Seek the truth actively and courageously. Read, discuss and reflect, deeply and widely. Then only, will things begin to improve.
Everyone will, of course, say they are honest and truthful, and that they value the truth. But the evidence shows clearly that at least 70% of the people, and especially the affluent minority, and the elite they dutifully serve, value comforting illusions over truth.
People may object, and say, “Look, I believe that Russia is meddling in the affairs of our nation. How is that comforting?” And yes, it is an uncomfortable thought to believe that all of the problems of your nation, and maybe the world, are Russia’s fault. But it is a very comforting thought to believe that we have no responsibility for our problems, because somebody else is to blame. For the liberals, it’s Russia that’s to blame for our problems. For the conservatives, it’s China’s fault. Truth doesn’t matter, because the fiction is more comforting.
I have no ties to either the Russian or Chinese governments, by the way, though that should not need to be said, and only in a culture of McCarthyism, paranoia and psychosis, does it need to be said; but I do value truth above fiction.
I am skeptical of all governments, and all people in positions of power, and I think that is a healthy way to be. I am not cynical, however. Cynicism is as bad and as dangerous as gullibility and naivete. Cynicism is a paralyzing, if not also a corrupting force. We do not need that. But I do have a healthy skepticism of anyone in a position of power, because, as Lord Acton said, “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” You should expect, therefore, that at least some people in positions of power, and possibly most of them, are corrupt, or at the least, self-serving and self-deceiving.
And I don’t trust communists or fascists at all. And that too, is a healthy and natural reaction. That means, I have no trust for the Chinese Communist Party. Nor do I trust the billionaire oligarchs in Davos, who, by the way, have proven beyond any trace of doubt, that they are sociopaths and imperialists, and are genocidal, ecocidal, and quite literally, fascists. Given the record of conduct, given the history, and given the documentary record, with regard to both the Western oligarchs, who are the Davos billionaires and their corporate empire, and the Eastern oligarchs, who are the Chinese Communist Party elite, nobody should trust either of them, any further than they can throw them.
I know, you’re not supposed to write or talk like this. We’re supposed to be polite and meek and mild, and skirt around the elephant in the middle of the room. We’re not supposed to call fascists, fascists. We’re not supposed to call sociopaths, sociopaths. We’re not supposed to call people who are deeply corrupt, the criminals and thieves that they are. (Though Vandana Shiva does, and I love her for that.) But I say there has to come a time when polite euphemisms and chronic evasion of reality have to come to an end. That time is now. Let’s call it like it is. The few hundred global power elites, who are the oligarchs of both the East and the West, are fascists - they’re Red fascists ruling in China, and they’re corporate fascists ruling in the West. It is time to speak plainly and frankly, and very, very honestly. Either we have the courage for that, or we will soon be reduced to digital serfs, if not slaves.

“China, who has never had a charitable bone in its body, and is known for only doing what best suits them, showed their true colors last May of 2021, when they denied freedom of religion and ramped up persecution against those of the Christian faith, with beatings and detainment at secretive “re-educational brainwashing” camps. The real China is not peaches and cream. They are like medieval executioners in black robes, and provide no mercy to anything concerning human rights.” - Dr. Igor Shepherd, Geopolitics & Empire
The Davos-based billionaire oligarchs of the West have proven they are no better than Communist China when it comes to respect for freedom, human rights, constitutional democracy, or their willingness to resort to either fascism or genocide, or both.
Who is in the driver’s seat, in what appears to be a clear alliance between the Communist elite in Beijing and the Western oligarchs in Davos? That is difficult to say, but given that both are now proven to be totalitarian and power-mad, does it really matter? Either way, they both have to be defeated. (We who live in the West, should start with the Western oligarchy, naturally.) And we should remember, as the great Scottish philosopher David Hume said, the people always have the greater power. Now is the time to embrace your power.

The major narratives of the past two decades in the West - along with the “blame the Russians” and “blame China” narratives - have been: the war on terrorism, the covid war, and the greenwash of “sustainability”. Terrorism, viruses and the environmental crisis are real problems, but the elite use every crisis to their advantage. (Naomi Klein described it well in her book, The Shock Doctrine.) What we are seeing in all three cases, is disaster capitalism writ large. All of these three crises have been exploited, and are being exploited, by “the de facto world government”, as the Financial Times called the Davos billionaires; and not surprisingly, all three have been used for political and economic objectives, which of course, benefit the currently ruling elite, by increasing their already vastly excessive power and wealth; and all of these crises are being exploited in a consistent way, driving toward one goal, which is global technocracy - or in other words, fascism. Actually, it is a nefarious hybrid of Communism and fascism, which is being pushed - both by the Communist government of China, and by the Western oligarchs. Who, therefore, represents the greatest danger to the people? Clearly and indisputably, it is our own ruling elite in the West.

According to Foreign Affairs, “few policy initiatives or normative standards set by the WHO are announced before they have been casually, unofficially vetted by Gates Foundation staff.” Or, as other sources told Politico in 2017, “Gates’ priorities have become the WHO’s.” The WHO is steering the course for the world’s Big Tech-laden, vaccine passport response to covid, meshed, of course, with highly coercive measures to enforce a de facto mandatory vaccination regime. But who is steering the WHO? Well, we know the answer to that question, and it is tech billionaire Bill Gates, along with the big drug companies, who just so happen to be making the vaccines, and seeing their profits skyrocket.
“Mega-corporations, international finance institutions, and billionaire-backed private foundations have played a vital role in lobbying for and implementing digital immunity passports.
The burgeoning global health passport system has been coordinated under the umbrella of the UN’s World Health Organization (WHO). However, this institution is so intertwined with wealthy private interests it can hardly be characterized as a “public” health body.
“Also at the forefront of the shift to digital credentials [digital ID] is the World Economic Forum (WEF). “The Forum is involved in the WHO task force to reflect on those [vaccine credential requirements] standards and think about how they would be used,” reads a May WEF article.
On paper, the WEF (also known as the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation) is an NGO and think tank “committed to improving the state of the world.” In reality, it is an international network of some of the wealthiest and most influential people on the planet. The Forum positions itself as the thought leader of global capitalism.
The organization is best known for its annual gathering of the global ruling class. Each year, hedge fund managers, bankers, CEOs, media representatives, and heads of state gather in Davos to “shape global, regional and industry agendas.” As Foreign Affairs put it, “the WEF has no formal authority, but it has become the major forum for elites to discuss policy ideas and priorities.””
- Jeremy Loffredo and Max Blumenthal, Public health or private wealth? How digital vaccine passports pave way for unprecedented surveillance capitalism, October 19, 2021, The GrayZone
So, we have Bill Gates, the Rockefeller Foundation, the World Economic Forum, which itself is the primary epicentre of global corporate power, along with big drug companies and Big Tech, molding “the new normal” that we are told we must accept, and in an extremely authoritarian fashion. Is this perhaps a dangerously excessive amount of power for a few giant corporations and a few billionaires to have? Most people would say yes.
Remember, again, Lord Acton’s famous dictum: “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The elite have become corrupted by power, and are now proceeding to act as messiahs, believing they are bringing about a better world for all, through the unfortunate necessity of invoking fascism. But there is little chance that fascism will bring about human happiness - zero, in fact; and there is little chance that fascism will solve our environmental crisis either.

What we did, in essence, was to fail to heed Thomas Jefferson’s warning, more than 200 years ago, when he said, “I pray we shall crush the moneyed aristocracy in its infancy, for already it bids defiance to our laws, and seeks a contest of strength with our democratic government.”
We failed to heed the warning, and now, 200 years later, the “moneyed aristocracy” which Jefferson warned us about, have finally taken over.
It is not complicated to understand, and it was thoroughly predictable. In fact, I predicted and warned that we were heading for corporate fascism, for the past thirty years, as I have said before, and anyone can find the articles on the web, quite easily.
This is the merger of big business and the state, which as Mussolini himself said, is the very definition of fascism. Or as FDR put it, fascism is defined as the corporate take-over of the government. And that is exactly what has happened. We were asleep on the watch, apparently, or at least, too many people were asleep, and that is what allowed it to happen.
And yet, the new empire - which was a global neoliberal corporate oligarchy, and which has now morphed and metastasized, and is now best described as global neo-feudal corporate fascism - is busy with its own propaganda and psyops (P&P) program, naturally, to hide the visibly obvious reality. That P&P (propaganda and psyops) campaign, rests upon the primary axioms used by all empires: distract, divide, demoralize, deceive, and thereby disempower the people.
The new Cold War has served extremely well in the first principle: distract the people from the real problem and the real danger, which is from within, from our own ruling elite. Wall Street, Davos and the City of London bankers have been, and continue to be, busily looting and pillaging the world, including the formerly wealthy nations of the West. That is the primary problem. The Cold War propaganda serves to distract the people from placing the blame where it really lies, which is at home, with our own ruling class.
*
The conservatives are being stupefied into believing that China is the great danger, and the liberals are being stupefied into believing that Russia is the great danger. Everyone is being distracted, and their attention is being diverted (the key ingredient to an illusionist’s tricks), by the new Cold War rhetoric, and by deliberately sown paranoia. The reality is, the Western billionaires represent the greatest danger now. Are they in cahoots with the Chinese Communist government? Probably, but that is almost irrelevant.
The central fact is, the danger is here at home. The real danger, the greatest danger, is not from Russia, China, or a few thugs in the Middle East, nor is it a killer virus (boo!) - the greatest danger is from our own business elite. They are drunk with power. And as Nietzsche said, “Power makes stupid.” Power also corrupts. And they have become corrupted to the core by their egotism, by their hubris, and by their intoxication with power. That is the simple, ugly truth of the matter.
As George Carlin aptly said, “They want it all.”
What this is, is a final culmination of an age-old imperial drive, premised on vicious class warfare. It is the 1% vs the 99%. Or to be more accurate, it is the 1% of the 1%, the top few hundred global power elites, in sociological terms, versus the people and the Earth. The plutocrats want to be god-kings - that’s all this is about, the same as every emperor has ever dreamed; and that dream requires that the people be reduced to serfs, or better, slaves.
(See Vandana Shiva’s, Oneness vs The 1%, Noam Chomsky’s Necessary Illusions and Class Warfare, and my own work, The People vs The Elite.)
Michael Rectenwald, author of The Google Archipelago, said it well:
“The Great Reset, then, is not merely a conspiracy theory; it is an open, avowed, and planned project, and it is well underway. But because capitalism with Chinese characteristics, or corporate-socialist statism, lacks free markets and depends on the absence of free will and individual liberty, it is, ironically, “unsustainable,” and doomed to fail. The question is just how much suffering and distortion will be endured until it does.”
- Plans Of A Technocratic Elite: 'The Great Reset' Is Not A Conspiracy Theory - Zero Hedge
The elite are filled with hubris. But as the ancient Greeks knew, hubris always precedes a fall. It is a classic case of imperial over-reach. Every empire does the same thing. They rise to great power, they become drunk with power, and they fall into hubris; then they over-reach, and they bring about their own downfall. Every empire that did not fall by war, or by despoiling their environment, fell by way of hubris and over-reach. And the madmen are repeating the same mistakes of history, all over again. This will not last, but it will, unfortunately, be ugly.

But let’s back up a bit, to the RussiaGate narrative.
After six years of relentlessly parading and flogging the narrative of RussiaGate, and after two impeachment efforts and a formal investigation, zero evidence has been produced. That should be enough to make any sane, sensible or rational person conclude that it was a false narrative, and a crock of horse shit. But still, the great majority of liberals believe it, as firmly as they believe that gravity works. They are clinically insane - dissociated from reality, paranoid, delusional, and psychotic, by the precise psychological definitions of these terms.
Putin is no Boy Scout, but there is no evidence of Russian “meddling” in US elections or deviously entangling US politicians into his dark spider’s web. If anything, the people of Russia have rejected authoritarianism, when they rejected and brought down the Soviet Union; and they are, above all, concerned simply to preserve their autonomy and independence - and to foster an international community that respects national sovereignty. The big stumbling blocks to such an international community, based in peaceful cooperation and national sovereignty, are Washington, and the Davos/Wall St./City of London oligarchs, who are the real rulers of the West. For myself, I am infinitely more concerned and distressed by Klaus Schwab, the veritable Dr. Evil, and his neo-fascist plutocrat coteries, than I am about Putin and Russia. The Titanic is sinking, a hole ripped through its side, and people are raging over whether someone tripped the waiter serving drinks on the top deck. It’s insane.

What of the Chinese question? That is more complicated. But let’s start with three facts, which are indisputable, and see where they lead.
The BRIC nations, of Brazil, Russia, India, and above all, China, along with Mexico, South Africa and South Korea, are now economic super-powers, and they continue to rise in economic power, upsetting the unipolar world of Anglo-American global corporate hegemony. (The Western business elite massively invested in China over the past 45 years, and were in large measure responsible for China’s rise, with the much-loathed Rockefeller dynasty being instrumental, but that is a topic for another time.)
The Western world - the US in particular, but also Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Britain and Europe - consciously chose to go down the path of neoliberal globalization, beginning in the 1970s, and consciously went into the offshoring of production and profits, the financialization of the economy, deregulation, privatization, and the stripping of assets from the productive domestic economies of the West. The result was an astronomical growth in wealth and power for the Western business elite - the number of billionaires globally rose from a few dozen, to five thousand; along with the gutting and virtual elimination of the middle class; skyrocketing inequality and poverty; the corporate take-over of government, the media, academia, the economy, the financial system, the culture and the society; the exponential deepening of a long-standing crisis of legitimacy, and greatly rising popular anger and discontent; and the hollowing out of the Western world - economically, culturally, socially, spiritually, and politically. In short, the Western business elite, after spending five centuries feasting off of the Third World, or Global South, began in the 1970s to devour their home countries, and their own people, as well. The result, is that the Western world in general, and the United States in particular, have experienced a sharp decline - economically, culturally, socially, spiritually, and politically. The decline of the Western world mirrors the rise of the billionaire class, as the new de facto rulers of the world - because it was the feeding frenzy of the business elite which itself caused the decline of the West, and which gave rise to the now globally dominant power of Davos, the epicentre of Western corporatist rule.
Because of the rise of the BRIC nations, in conjunction with the decline of the West - or the conscious devouring of the West by the plutocrats, to be more precise - we now live in a multi-polar world. The United States is no longer the ruling unipolar hegemon, as it was between the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, and roughly 2001, when the US went into steep decline, while China went into its spectacular rise to meteoric heights of economic power, becoming the world’s primary manufacturing centre. The Global South and the East, particularly in combination, now rival the power of the West. (And together, have overshadowed and eclipsed it.) There are at least three major power blocks in the world now, therefore - and, we should never forget the greatest superpower of them all, which is the people themselves: the grassroots citizenry of the world. We know these first three points to be undisputable facts, or we should know, at least. Now, what do they indicate, or forebode?
The Western business elite, having gorged themselves on their pillaging, looting, and devouring of the Western world, along with the Global South, now rail at the bogeymen of Russia and China, as the great evils threatening the world. Are they truly afraid of losing out to China, or have they struck a back-room bargain with Beijing? I think the evidence is very strong that the Western oligarchs, seated at Davos, have made a deal with the political elite of Communist China. It’s a business partnership, between two organized crime syndicates. The Western billionaires are in love with the totalitarian Chinese Communist model, and are eagerly and fanatically, and very aggressively, importing it, and imposing it, across the West, and on as much of the world as they can. But their central problem is not China, Russia, or any other foreign competitor. Their central problem, as they well know, is the domestic population. They are terrified of the outbreak of democracy, which has already begun, and had clearly begun, by the time of the World Trade Organization talks in Seattle, in 1999, where activists from around the world blockaded and shut down the talks of the oligarchs, causing shock waves among the ruling class. The elite fear the people, above all, and they know they are facing a profound crisis of legitimacy, which could collapse their power and their rule, like a house of cards - exactly as happened with the Soviet Union. (Most of them are about as sharp as a ballpeen hammer, or a bowling ball, but their intellectuals in residence have surely informed them of their precarious situation, and have explained to them what a crisis of legitimacy means, and entails.) The elite, therefore, need to distract the people, and to deflect and redirect their anger. “Don’t blame us! It’s China’s fault!” Or it’s Russia’s fault. Choose your bogeyman. Whatever you do, don’t place the blame for your misery where it belongs - with Wall Street, the City of London bankers, Davos, and the billionaire plutocrats who now effectively rule most of the world. That’s what we can’t have - we can’t have the people realizing who is truly to blame for their misery, and their growing impoverishment and subjugation. Blame Russia, blame China, blame anti-vaxxers, blame immigrants, blame Republicans, or Democrats, blame whites, blame blacks….blame anybody but us! We, the rightful rulers of the world, the plutocrats, must never take the blame, even when it was us, who caused the decline of the West, and the devouring of the West, and the middle class, and Main Street, by our own ruthless predations. The people must be made to fear and hate anyone else, and direct their anger and their rage anywhere else, but never toward us, where it truly belongs. Welcome to Propaganda and Psychological Warfare, 101. Manufacture narratives to deflect the rightful anger of the people, and to keep them distracted, while we continue to loot, pillage, enslave, and devour them.
While nuclear war remains a very real danger, what seems more likely, and has considerable evidence to support it, is a collusion between the communists of Beijing, and the fascists of Wall Street, the City of London and Davos. War must be averted, especially between nuclear powers. That is imperative. But we must also be wary of attacks on the people by the two dominant centres of world power, which are now Davos and Beijing. And we should know, that it appears that these two criminal syndicates have now joined forces - because they share business interests, they have deep mutual investments in one another’s spheres, and because they share a common value: they value power, above all else. The Davos elite are fascists, in love with Chinese Communism. The Chinese elite are communists, who are impressed with the Western corporate fascists. Their mutual shared value is power, and they are both deeply authoritarian, as both have now amply proven.
The world is being “offered”, or rather, force-fed, a vision and a model of “necessary and unavoidable” police state measures - that is, fascism - combined with depopulation of the rural countryside, the driving of the people into authoritarian “smart-cities”, and the (further) deindustrialization of the Western world. This is the Western elite’s response to a crisis of legitimacy, and the threat of an outbreak of democracy. It is not about public health, nor is it motivated by any genuine concerns for the planet by the planet-pillaging ruling elite. This is about power, pure and simple. This is not “conspiracy theory” - whatever that hollow, asinine word means. The World Economic Forum - which meets annually at Davos, and which the leading business journal of the Western world itself has called, “the de facto world government” - itself has indicated quite openly and publicly all these things; and the extremely powerful Rockefeller Institute, which is tightly interwoven with Davos and the global corporate oligarchy, has made it explicit. (See the World Economic Forum’s own documents and videos, on what they themselves have called The Great Reset. Klaus Schwab wrote a book on it, explaining his grand vision, along with a book on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. And see the Rockefeller Foundation’s 2010 published report, Operation Lock Step.) The rationalization currently being given for the move to authoritarianism, which of course is never called authoritarianism, is the covid “pandemic” - which is not a pandemic, because the global mortality rate has not increased, and therefore, if there is no pandemic of deaths, then there is no actually occurring pandemic. People are dying of the flu, as they have for millennia, which is tragic, certainly, but not a pandemic. And again, natural immune boosting for prevention, and ivermectin for treatment, work better than vaccines and lock-downs, as has been amply proven. The key issue here, however, is not the threat level we assess covid to be, nor how we assess the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines, but how we respond to a health crisis - whether by upholding human rights, freedom and constitutional democracy, or by throwing all three overboard, in favour of a new normal of authoritarianism, totalitarianism or fascism. That is the central question, so do not let anyone confuse you or lead you astray, by confused or dishonest straw man arguments, jingoism, labels, hate speech or distractions. (If anyone has doubts as to the accuracy of my analysis of the covid crisis, see the leading constitutional lawyer of Canada, Rocco Galati. If there is a glimmer of sanity or capacity for rational thought left, as I know at least the majority of people have a capacity for, then he should be able to dispel any doubts in anyone’s mind.) And the second narrative that is being used to justify and rationalize the move to authoritarianism, is the environmental crisis. (See my essay, Population & The Environment, on WordPress.) The environmental crisis is very real, but it does not justify fascism, and nor can it be solved by a resort to fascism. Covid, likewise, even if it was the greatest plague in history, cannot be cured by a resort to fascism. (The Spanish Flu killed 50 million people, which is twelve times the official covid death count, and the Bubonic Plague killed 30% of Europe - and in neither case did we resort to fascism, because it would have added to the problem, not solved it.) But these are the two narratives which are now driving the people of the West, and the broader world, to accept a radical shift, or Great Reset, from a society based on freedom, constitutional democracy and human rights, to a world where these things no longer exist: a world where the billionaire elite and their political minions will rule over all, and where technocracy - or fascism, or communism, however you want to label it, and it is a strange and extremely dangerous hybrid of the three - will be the new world order. In short, what we are witnessing is the final culmination of the decades-long trend, and centuries-long, in fact, towards the full corporate take-over of the world. And it means, in a word, fascism, on a global scale. This is not very difficult to understand. Furthermore, anyone who has been at all paying attention should have seen this coming for decades. (See Noam Chomsky on The Crisis of Democracy.) As I have said, I have been warning we were heading towards corporate fascism for thirty years. Now it is here. To still not be able to see it, requires a very dedicated, willful ignorance.
We, the people, must reject technocracy, fascism, communism, or any form of authoritarianism, which will destroy our rights, our freedom, and our democracy, if not also our very humanity. We must cease to allow ourselves to be distracted, deceived, deluded, demoralized, or divided. We must be clear of mind, united across our wondrous diversity, empowered, and resolute. And know this: The crisis of legitimacy, which the elite are trying to solve by resorting to fascist-communist technocracy, will not go away, but will only grow deeper. The desperate actions of the elite, made out of fear of losing power, in resorting to totalitarianism to quell popular discontent, will have precisely the opposite result: they will only deepen the crisis of legitimacy, increasing the people’s discontent, and their outrage and determination, and the elite will, as a result, have sparked the very revolution they are trying to avert. Their desperate bids to hold onto power, will in short, guarantee their fall from power, and their collapse. (See Shelly’s poignant and prophetic poem, Ozymandias.) But we must not be complacent. This will not be easy, and it will not likely be a quick victory. We must steel ourselves for the battle ahead. The people will win. Freedom will win. The Earth will be liberated, and our world will be healed. But we must be ready for what may be a long struggle ahead. I know that many people are weary already, but you must take strength, and find ways to nourish yourself and one another, in body, mind and spirit. We will win. Freedom will win. And the world will see the flourishing of a new renaissance, and a rebirth, which are already now emerging. Keep a long term perspective, and never surrender.
That is my analysis of the current state of world affairs, or at least, a brief overview of a few of the major elements within it. But don’t take my word on things - don’t take anyone’s word on things. Examine things for yourself, and draw your own conclusions. It cannot be emphasized enough. Trust yourself. Trungpa was right: that is of critical importance - trust yourself. And embrace your power.

A few important questions come to mind here, however, and they should be explored.
Why are the Western elite absolutely adamant, above all, that everyone on the planet be injected with their experimental mRNA, gene-editing drug?
Why are they so adamant that it must be the mRNA drugs which are injected globally - and no other form of treatment, or vaccine - even by way of coercive measures?
Why is the US government insistent that all US soldiers and military personnel be required to take the mRNA injections, in particular, and not any other vaccine or treatment?
Why are the governments of Russia and China refusing to give the mRNA vaccines to their people, insisting instead that they be given the older style (vector) vaccines, which they themselves have developed and manufactured?
The implications are ominous. I’m not inclined to wild speculation, but what is very clear, is that, in the words of Piers Robinson, Co-Director of the Organization for Propaganda Studies, “You would have to be profoundly naïve to think this is just about public health.” How nefarious is this exploitation of a crisis? Only the degree is unclear.
Would the Western elite engage in biological warfare against their own people? We know from history that they not only would, but have. What would motivate them? The World Economic Forum (WEF) has publicly declared its Great Reset agenda, which ostensibly, they say, will create a more equal and sustainable world. Virtually all of the biggest corporations have signed on, as strategic partners. And the WEF has said in its own publicly released video, that in 2030, “You’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy.” The implication is clear: greater equality will be achieved, not by uplifting the 4.3 billion people living in poverty, mainly in the Third World, or Global South, but by reducing the Western world to their level. Naturally, people are going to resist being impoverished and made into serfs, or slaves, along with being stripped of their freedom, their civil liberties, their democracy and their human rights. Strong action would most definitely need to be planned in advance to deal with the resistance. Fascism is the key component. Propaganda and censorship are two other key components. Bribery of elected officials is another. But we cannot rule out biological warfare as another, possibly planned element, of the Great Reset. And, a leading expert on biological warfare, Dr. Igor Shepherd, has said that in his opinion, the coronavirus is an act of biological warfare - waged by the Western elite, on the people of the West, in order to subdue them, with the possible collusion of the Chinese elite. The hope, it seems, of the oligarchy, is that then we can all join the grand social model of Communist China, which the Western elite love so much. I am dead serious, of course.

Are the elite really that evil? Not all business and political elites are corrupt, certainly. But it seems incontrovertible that most of them now are. Big money and excessive power are to blame. If you don’t want corruption or abuse of power, then you must decentralize power, as Thomas Jefferson urged, 200 years ago - and both economic as well as political power. It’s no use crying or protesting about bad government, if you are unwilling to challenge either big money interests, or excessive state powers, and in very serious ways. But yes, the majority of the elite are quite simply corrupt, and worse.
Chomsky was right, when he said thirty years ago, “It’s not that the elite like torture - they’re just indifferent to it.” In other words, most of the elite are Machiavellians, as the great historian Howard Zinn has said. And even that is putting it mildly.
Most people are basically decent. They are certainly not sociopaths. And therefore, they have a hard time comprehending that there are sociopaths in the world. But an estimated 1% of the population, according to the leading researcher in the field, is a sociopath. These are the facts. And sociopaths naturally gravitate to positions of power. They are drawn like flies to shit.
A sociopath is not the same as a sadist, by the way. A sadist enjoys inflicting suffering and pain. A sociopath simply has buried their natural human empathy and compassion. They are indifferent to human suffering. They are cold-blooded and reptilian. (No offense to the snakes and other natural reptiles.)
I would say that with the war in Iraq alone, the Western elite proved they were willing to commit mass murder, and on a vast scale, simply for the sake of controlling a nation’s oil - and that is proof enough that they are Machiavellian, murderous thieves, and, I would say, clearly sociopathic.
Hundreds of thousands of people, at least, were killed, not to bring democracy or freedom to the people of Iraq, quite clearly, but for the sake of corporate profits and power. In short, the elite have proven that they are Machiavellian, genocidal, war-mongering, and sociopathic, as well as ecocidal. Underestimating what they might be capable of, could prove to be something that we will profoundly and deeply regret.
What appears by all the evidence to be happening, is that the centuries-long class warfare, being waged by the elite upon the people, is being taken to a final solution. The darling intellectual in residence for the Davos elite, Yuval Harari, has said that, with a fully automated economy, 90% of the people will become “useless”. His word. As in, disposable. Worse yet, Klaus Schwab and the WEF have said publicly that their goal is to take the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and use it to bring about a transhumanist, final merger of man and machine. It would appear that the survivors of the global class war are to be turned into the Borg.
Again, since the level of denial is so high, a certain degree of repeating the plain facts, is simply necessary. To repeat: Most people are basically decent, and they have a hard time fathoming that a few people truly are sociopaths, but it is an inescapable fact. In every generation, there is a small percentage, estimated in our time to be 1%, by the leading researcher in the field, who are quite simply sociopaths. And sociopaths naturally gravitate to positions of wealth and power. We cannot afford to be naïve. It could be deadly to do so now.
All of the corporate elite are heavily invested in the pharmaceutical companies, including the major media. BlackRock, the biggest hedge fund in the world, with $13 trillion in assets, manages the money for the billionaires and other business elites, and they are invested up to their eyeballs in the big drug cartel, which we euphemistically call Big Pharma. More ominously, the Big Pharma corporations all trace their roots to Nazi Germany. Moreover, they were the ones who supplied the poison gas for the concentration camps and the gas chambers. And people trust the drug companies? Or the billionaires more generally? What are we, three years old?
One would have to be living in a fantasy land, and be profoundly naïve, and have an utter ignorance of history, to believe that elites could never commit terrible atrocities - up to and including mass incarceration and genocide.
*
Thirty years ago, long before Chomsky lost his integrity in 2021, or his faculties, or both, he described what was happening across the Western world, very accurately. He described it as, “a highly conscious class war”, and “the Third-worldization of the formerly wealthy nations” - with the importing of the Third World model into the West, where 1% own the country, roughly 9% are their loyal, well-paid minions and royal servants, and 90% form the underclass. Asked what might be done with the surplus population who are no longer needed as workers, he dryly and frankly replied, “prison labour is one option - and it’s already taking place”. (Not many people know, but corporations have been using prison labour for at least three decades in the United States. Why pay $30 an hour, or even $15, or $10, when you can pay 25 cents an hour for prison labour?) So, are the elite averse to prison labour? Not at all. They love it, in fact. But it gets even worse.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand - which is one of the countries that has gone full-fascist, and full-Orwellian, along with Australia, China, Chile and Italy, and is one of the countries bringing in vaccine passports - the Prime Minister who is the figure that is held up as the wisest leader among the “liberal” Western nations, was recently asked in regards to vaccine passports whether this would create a two-tier society. She responded by saying, “Yes, that’s the point.” So this is literally neo-feudalism. It is also neo-fascism. How can this be anything but vividly clear?
And we now have Noam Chomsky, who was, until the autumn of 2021, the leading voice of the Left, and the leading dissident in the world, calling for the unvaccinated to be “isolated”, saying that “action” should be taken. When he was asked how people who are isolated from society would get food, he responded, saying, “That’s actually their problem.” Meaning, mass house arrests, at best, if not detainment camps - and the vaccine resistant should maybe just be starved to death.
The former Prime Minister of Lithuania has recently said to the unvaccinated, “Prepare your graves.”
Biden, Trudeau, Chomsky and others are promoting hate, and are joining in the demonization and dehumanization of the unvaccinated. And as history has shown, dehumanization always ends in genocide.
This is no longer a matter of pro-vax versus anti-vax - this is a matter of freedom, human rights and constitutional democracy, versus fascism. It has also become a matter of genocide and internment camps, versus liberty and survival.
*
The price of freedom and democracy is, as it has been said, eternal vigilance. And at this stage, it may also be the price of survival, and simply staying alive.
Most of the left, along with most of the right, and virtually all of the liberal “centre”, have drunk the Kool-Aid, and have accepted the official narrative, that authoritarian measures are justified and necessary - which means that all of them are now on the extreme right - and they are all now silently complicit, or else actively cheerleading, for the “new normal” of authoritarian rule. Things could scarcely look much more stark, or ominous.
The great majority of the people are steeped in denial, and are frankly in a state of dissociation from reality, in the biggest case of Stockholm syndrome in history. But the official narrative is crumbling. People are asking questions. More and more people are speaking out.
People with audiences in the hundreds of thousands, or millions, such as Russell Brand, Joe Rogan, James Corbett and Jimmy Dore, are now questioning the narrative, or have challenged it from the beginning. Thousands of doctors, scientists and scholars have argued that the official covid narrative is demonstrably false, and in a number of ways.
The people are awakening. Perhaps it is not too late to prevent another dark period of human history. What is certain, however, is that we must do everything we can to prevent the systematic abuse and destruction of human rights, and the curtailing and abolition of freedom and constitutional democracy. We will succeed, in the end, but this battle will not likely be over quickly. Gird your loins, and steel your resolve. The people will win, but not without a fight.

If some people want to take up arms, I cannot stop them. But I would advise that non-violent resistance is strategically superior, at least in the present day, and will give us a far better chance of success. Violent actions alienate the majority of people, and that is simply shooting yourself in the foot. It is strategically foolish at this point. This time is akin to 1776, but it is not 1776. Most people now, rightly abhor violence. If you want their support, you need to use non-violent strategies of direct action, not violence.
Violent resistance would also create a bloody civil war, and a bloody stalemate, that could last for decades. Nobody wins in that scenario. More importantly, violent resistance will only justify violent, police state repression. That is exactly what the fascist elite want us to do. That works perfectly for them. We cannot take the bait. But they cannot handle millions of people refusing to cooperate. That, brings their game to an end - because without our cooperation, they have no power.
Get strategic, get resilient, and get ready now. This is the fight of our lives. This is the fight for the future of humanity. This is the fight to end all empires, and to end the age of empires, once and for all. In a word, this is the fight for freedom.
*
Remember that the corporate fascist coup is global; therefore, the resistance must be, and is, global. Choose your ground well. Place yourself consciously, with thoughtfulness, either where you feel called to be, or where you feel you will be the strongest. We are aiming here at victory - not short-term, vainglorious heroics, that are ultimately for the sake of one’s ego, and which do nothing to advance the cause of freedom. Choose your ground, and get ready. Growing food and creating lodging for the resistance, will be two of the most crucial things that are going to be needed, by the way.
(I would recommend a few crops as being of central importance, if we are going to be serious, as we should be: flax, wool, hemp, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, kale, beans, corn, barley, quinoa, millet, berries, maca, holy basil and other herbs, garlic, onions, and fruit and nut trees. Nigerian dwarf dairy goats, chickens, horses and donkeys are a good idea too. Not everybody needs to be a farmer, but it is true, the farmers may prove to be the key to our freedom. So get planting, even if it is a small garden, or a balcony garden with a few pots of vegetables and beans, or an indoor micro-scale, window sill garden.)
What will save us now, and defeat the rising tyranny and fascism, are above all, a combination of effective communication, awareness-raising, mutual aid, self-reliance, and adaptability. And it would be wise to add mobility to that mix as well. If we are serious, then we must be strategic, and not simply cross our fingers and hope for the best. That would be foolish in the extreme.
There are worse things than dying. Losing your humanity, is infinitely worse than dying. Get ready for the fight of our lives. Now it is our generations’ turn to defeat the fascists, just as our parents, grandparents, and great grand-parents did, 75 years ago, in WWII. They accomplished the task, and so will we.
Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. showed us the way. Get ready. And build the logistical support networks that will be required to win the non-violent revolution, which is now absolutely necessary, and absolutely unavoidable.

We have now outlined the problem, and the solution. But what are the obstacles to be overcome? We must be clear on this, and we must ask difficult questions of ourselves, if we want to be free, healthy, happy, or to have a better world. Courage, my love. We need courage now. And we must take stock of both, our strengths, and our human weaknesses, in order to know how best to proceed.
We know now from studies that most people do not, in reality, in practice, value the truth. In fact, most people are afraid of the truth, and strongly averse to the truth. Why? Most people value the truth only if it conforms to what they already believe; which means, they don’t value the truth at all. They value comfort above all. And the pursuit of comfort will be their prison and their chains, and ours, if we cannot rescue them from their slumber. They are sleep-walking towards a cliff. And they are getting dangerously close to the edge.
We know now that most people don’t want the truth - they want to be told that they are right. They want to hear things that convince them that their beliefs are correct. The entire Big Tech “social media” business model is based on putting things in front of people that they want to see: which means, as they know, putting things in front of people that reinforce their existing beliefs. And that is what they do, systematically. And it only reinforces the cognitive and emotional bias that I just described.
There are two broad currents in modern society, we could say. One is the deeper current, which will triumph in the end. That current represents the awakening of humanity, and a new renaissance, and it is based in a radical questioning of icons and orthodoxies, a radical questioning of power, above all, and it is based in a spirit of freedom, compassion, and unity in diversity. But there is clearly a dark trend going on, as well. That trend is toward authoritarianism, increasing division, increasing isolation and atomization, increasingly rabid scape-goating, and increasing delusion, with its concomitants of conformity, obedience, elitism, domination and subjugation.
Idolatry of ideology, fanaticism, partisan zealotry, dark forms of tribalism, narrow preconceptions, parochialism and group-think, are major elements of the darker trend which must be overcome.
Most people now “surround themselves” with others who agree with them - speaking in the loose sense of the term, since people are increasingly siloed into their own private bunkers, and in reality, they are surrounded by their digital surrogates for community, and for reality.

Liberals watch CNN and take Rachel Maddow as their high priestess. Conservatives watch Fox News and take Tucker Carlson as their high priest. (Although, strange as it is to me, it is the conservatives who are now the more open-minded ones.)
The liberals have their own echo chamber bubble. The conservatives have their own echo chamber bubble. The libertarians have their own echo chamber bubble. The progressives have their own echo chamber bubble. The “;eft” has its own particular echo chambers… (Do I hear an echo in here? Yes, it is nauseating, when you step back and look at it.) And no one dares to listen to views that are outside of their own particular bubble of an echo chamber. That would be to court heresy, and burning at the stake, or at least banishment and excommunication. And of course, the elite have their own echo chambers, as well, and surround themselves with people who will reinforce their own pet fantasies and delusions. The result is that our society is increasingly divided, social discourse is obstructed and crumbling, and most people believe whatever they choose to believe, and surround themselves with others who simply reinforce their presumed “correct” beliefs. It is a hall of mirrors, and a madhouse. And a house divided upon itself, is furthermore a house that is unstable, and will fall.
“I wander thro' each charter'd street,
Near where the charter'd Thames does flow.
And mark in every face I meet
Marks of weakness, marks of woe.
In every cry of every Man,
In every Infants cry of fear,
In every voice: in every ban,
The mind-forg'd manacles I hear”
- William Blake, London
People are generally not conscious of having filters and lenses, but of course they do. Everyone has a set of beliefs about the world, through which lenses, everything is understood, or more often, misunderstood. And on top of that core problem, there are layers of unconscious filters. These filters are called, in psychology, cognitive bias and emotional bias, which in effect, simply means that there and powerful cognitive and emotional distortions to our perceptual-cognitive processing of information, which effectively filter everything that we see, read and hear.
When we encounter information or evidence that conflicts with our existing beliefs, the rational thing to do would be to adjust our beliefs, to fit with the new information and the new evidence. But that is not what most people do. Due to cognitive and emotional bias, the majority of people have a powerful, unconscious, and habitual filtering system, such that, when they encounter information or evidence which conflicts with their existing beliefs, they filter out, select, or mold the new information, to make the new information conform with their existing beliefs, or else to block it mentally from the mind, and dismiss it. People are not aware they are doing this, but it is the norm.
Add onto this unconscious filtering mechanism, the elements and dynamics of ego, careerism, conformism, herd-instinct, group-think, and irrational obedience to authority, and you have a powerful set of mental obstacles to overcome. But it can be done. Millions of people do it every day. And millions more are cutting through the mental fog, and are waking up.

Metaphysics, Revolution, and the Nature of Being and Mind
A few brief thoughts are important to add here in terms of epistemology, ontology and metaphysics. Even though these areas may seem foreign, exotic, abstract or difficult to approach for many people, they are understandable, and they are extremely important. This essay is already very long, covering extreme breadth and depth, so I will be brief.
There is no duality. This is the first and primary truth of the nature of being and reality, as the perennial philosophy expressed by the sages and mystics have attested for millennia, in the spiritual traditions from all cultures, all over the world; and as modern physics has confirmed. And there is a paradigm shift that is underway, (see Thomas Kuhn) both within science, and within the broader culture and society, around the world.
Non-duality means, we truly are one human family; and more, all living things are interconnected, interdependent, and truly one family; and there is an underlying unity to the rich and wondrous diversity of nature, being, and the cosmos. It also means that the Cartesian dualism which took over the Western mind 400 years ago, and its corollary of Newtonian mechanistic thinking, are rooted in illusion.
(See Nagarjuna, Lao Tzu, Shankara, Spinoza, Hildegard of Bingen and Meister Eckhart, Joseph Campbell, Einstein, Schrodinger, Wheeler and Bohm, Vandana Shiva, Joanna Macy, Michael Talbot, Rupert Sheldrake, Alan Watts and Allan Wallace.)
The cosmos, nature and reality are more akin to a singular being, or a tree of life, than to a machine with many parts. And moreover, as Einstein said, “The perception of a division between self and other is a kind of optical delusion.” This means that our fighting between groups and nations, or between humanity and nature, is based in ignorance, confusion, and delusion.
This realization of the basic, underlying unity of life, is fundamental to our waking up, and to putting an end to the 5,000 year-old aberration, of hierarchies of power and domination, and a social model based in conquest, dominance and empire. It means, we are entering a time of freedom, but only if we awaken to the reality of freedom, based in unity and non-duality, being the fundamental nature of our existence, which we have merely strayed from. (See Eisler, Gimbutas, Bookchin, and Joseph Campbell.)
Non-duality also applies to the imagined division between mind and body, and consciousness and matter. Quantum physics has shown us that there is no such division in reality. It is merely a false conception, a mistaken imputation, an illusion. (Hume realized this as well, as did Spinoza.) It means that consciousness and physical form are interacting and shaping one another at all times. This has profound implications. It means that materialist reductionism is an illusion, a dying paradigm based in a 400 year-old misunderstanding. This has implications for all aspects of our lives and our society.
The non-duality of being means, among other things, that the physical/material constraints and limits which we experience, are less immutable and less permanent than we imagine them to be. It means, that while there are very real material constraints on human beings, most of them are socially created. And since they are socially created, they can also be socially altered - by us. It means, our future is largely what we make of it, as are our personal lives.
I am not discounting the very real suffering or poverty in the world, or the injustice, oppression, exploitation or tyranny. These are real phenomena, which our society has created, and generally, with our participation, at least to some degree. It does mean, however, that poverty, tyranny and injustice can be overcome, and it means that freedom and justice can be born in greater fullness, if we choose it.
Another important lesson from the dawning realization that non-dual unity is the nature of being, is that while mind and body, consciousness and material form interact, it is consciousness, or mind, which is the greater power.
This means that while there are both outer and inner obstacles to creating better lives, better communities, better nations, and a better world for all, it is the inner obstacles of consciousness and mind which are the greater barrier, and the primary barrier. As we begin to free our minds, we will begin to increasingly liberate our lives, our communities, our nations, and our world. Bear that in mind. It is critical to remember our power now.
The future truly is within our power to create. Let us not roll over and play dead to the few sociopaths who happen to be ruling the world at the present. They will not rule forever, and nor should we let them. We can take the power back. And we must do so, now.

Addendum:
A Few Thoughts On The Quest For Truth
Or, alternatively put:
The fine art of reducing befuddlement, illusion and delusion, and beginning to see things, at least a little more clearly:
There are many tools and methods and tips for seeking knowledge, wisdom and truth. Here are a few key points to consider.
Chomsky has now, as of autumn 2021, begun to advocate for authoritarianism, and for police state measures, and the suspension of civil liberties and human rights. That clearly makes anything he has to say from this point forward, highly suspect at best, and utterly unreliable. But we would simply be foolish to dismiss what he had to say before he lost his mind. There was good reason why he was the leading dissident intellectual in the world, up until 2021.
One of the most important things Chomsky ever said was, “If you want to understand a society, you have to look at where power lies.” And of course, that does not mean where power lies in theory, but in practice, and in reality. This of course takes you into deep politics, and power politics. That realm, if you venture there, instantly gets you labelled a “conspiracy theorist”. But intelligent people should dismiss such hollow verbiage, naturally. As Chomsky also said, "Conspiracy theory is a term that is used to poo-poo institutional analysis.” And of course, any intelligent examination of sociology, history, anthropology or political-economy, requires that you examine relations of power, and you critically examine institutions. If you don’t, then you’re not a serious scholar, researcher or intellectual. You’re either an ideologue, a propagandist, or you’re simply playing games. You’re simply not remotely serious, if you are unwilling to question power dynamics and institutions. So those are two cardinal principles: examine power relations, and examine social, cultural, economic and political institutions, and both the formal ones, and the ones which are not necessarily supposed to have great power, but do - such as the CFR, Chatham House, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg group, the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, the Business Roundtables, DARPA, the Fed, the ECB, the BIS, the WHO, the IMF, World Bank and WEF, for example.
But I would caution people about getting lost in theory, or caught up in labyrinthine searches for “the real powers”. A simple class analysis explains things well enough: the power elite, to use the sociologist, C. Wright Mills’ term, which is the 1% of the 1%, simply have far too much power.
Don’t over-complicate things. Keep it simple. Action means more than theory.
Here are some further tips.
The Rules Of Engagement For An Intelligent Mind
Seek the truth above all. And value the truth above all - including, especially, valuing the truth over comfort or personal gain. There are many values which, I would say, are worth seeking to live by, embody, uphold, nurture, promote and protect, including: liberty, equality, solidarity, freedom, compassion, cooperation and mutual aid, self-reliance, constitutional democracy, ecology, diversity, unity, peace, adaptability, resilience, truthfulness and honesty, creativity and imagination, confidence, dignity, humility, tolerance, open-mindedness, courage, patience, perseverance, diligence, spirituality, critical thinking, and grit. But whatever your values are, you cannot uphold them, promote them, defend them, or live by them, if you don’t know what you are doing, and you don’t know what is real, what is true, or what is going on. Therefore, the over-riding principle and value, above all, must be the active and passionate seeking, and speaking, of the truth. Know this, and embrace this principle, or you will likely live in illusion, delusion, and in chains.
Trust your intuition. And listen to your intuition. At the very least, your intuition will give you a hunch, a gut feeling, a hypothesis. Then, your job is to follow up your gut instinct, your intuition or your hypothesis, by digging for the evidence, so that you can either prove or disprove your hypothesis. Intuition is what drives science. That’s where the valuable hypotheses come from. Intuition is what drives the best investigators. Intuition is also what drives the creative arts. It is what drives innovation. And at times, it can open doors of opportunity that you otherwise would have missed. At other times, it can save your life. Listen carefully, and follow up your intuition, either with immediate action, or at least with reflection, study, contemplation and investigation. Intuition is precious. Never discount it.
Question everything. And I do mean everything. As the Buddha said, “Don’t take anyone’s word on things - not even someone you respect, not even myself. Investigate things for yourself.” The biggest obstacles to the truth, are unthinking deference to authority, conformity, group-think, and cognitive and emotional bias. You have to question everything, including your own assumptions, above all. This means, in effect: You must think for yourself. But it is impossible to truly think for yourself, unless you question everything. There are two certainties in life only. One is gravity, and the other is death, and I’m not sure that even gravity is an absolute. Consider everything other than your own mortality, to be open to question. Start from there. Assume you know nothing. More to the point, assume that you have been conditioned and indoctrinated your whole life, and most of what you believe, is simply an illusion. It is. That is the only intelligent place to start. Then you can build from there. Remember what Socrates said, “I am the wisest person I know, because I am the only one who realizes his ignorance.” Start from that assumption. That is to say, start with no assumptions. Or if you make assumptions, be highly conscious of the fact that they are assumptions, and not certainties. Then uncover the hidden assumptions you didn’t even realize you had. And question them. Question everything. This is the only way to find the truth.
Devote time to reading. Make time. No excuses. Your values are reflected in your actions. If you say you love your family, spend time with them. If you say you value wisdom, knowledge, understanding, awareness or truth, and you refuse to spend time reading, and instead spend the typical average of four hours a day watching TV, and four hours on the internet, mainly on “social media”, then your values are a lie, because you show by your actions that you value entertainment, and not wisdom, knowledge, understanding, awareness or truth. If you truly valued these things, you would devote time to serious reading, and a little less time on entertainment. Read. Read like your life depends on it. It does. Certainly your quality of life does; and your quality of mind, spirit, and character, depend to a large degree on what you read, and whether you read at all. Read. And read widely - and read deeply. Read for pure enjoyment, yes, but also read serious non-fiction. And read various perspectives - that is very important, as well.
Devote time to solitude. Devote at least fifteen minutes a day, if not an hour, to time spent in silence and solitude. We all need time to reflect, to ponder, to feel, to simply breathe, and to simple be; to reconnect with ourselves, in a society that is driving us to be ever more alienated and disconnected from one another, from nature, and from our very selves. Silence is indeed golden. In fact, it is precious beyond words. And the more you acclimatize to it, the more joyful, nourishing and rich it becomes.
Discuss. It doesn’t matter if you are highly introverted or highly extroverted, highly solitary or highly social, highly articulate, or you stumble on your words. What matters is that you spend at least some time, at least once a month, maybe a lot more, depending on your personal nature and inclinations, discussing things that matter - preferably with someone who is open-minded, or, alternately, someone who will challenge your way of thinking, or both. As with reading and reflection, discuss widely, deeply, and freely.
Rely ultimately on your own reason, and even more so, on evidence and experience. Rely ultimately only on your own reason, first of all, and even more so, and above all, on evidence - before you draw any firm conclusions of any kind. You can have all the hunches, intuitions, hypotheses or tentative views you want. But before you make any firm conclusions, test it with your own reason, and most importantly, investigate things for yourself. When you do form an opinion, a view or a conclusion, make sure it is not based on: a) deference to authority, b) conformity to the crowd or your particular social group, or c) cognitive or emotional bias, personal comfort, or perceived personal gain. Rely ultimately on evidence, or direct experience, as the final arbiter in determining what is true, and what is untrue. Remember, everyone knew that the world was flat, and the Earth is the centre of the universe. And everyone was wrong. The authorities were wrong. The scholars and intellectuals were wrong. The governments and priests were wrong. The businessmen were wrong. And the masses of people were wrong. Authorities and crowds are not reliable measures of truth - in fact, they have a terrible record of being wrong, and very often, terribly, disastrously wrong. Take the witch trials and the Inquisition, for example. Think for yourself!

Closing remarks:
Authoritarianism is not the answer. Authoritarianism is the enemy.
The real dangers facing the West, and facing the world, are illusion, delusion, paranoia, parochialism, militarism and war, elitism, and authoritarianism. I can’t think of any major problem that we have, that is not traceable to one or more of these root causes. And as Einstein said, we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking that created them. We need to defeat these enemies - and cease to be divided, or deceived.
The awakening that is occurring across humanity, and around the world, will win out in the end. However, what we do now, is of critical and pivotal importance. Build bridges of dialogue and understanding, compassion, reciprocity and mutual aid, based in tolerance, in unity amidst diversity, and in freedom, and we will get through this.

25 years ago, I listened to a radio interview with an anthropologist. He was very calm and composed, and took a very cool, scholarly tone, but he said, quite matter-of-factly: our society is cannibalistic. We eat our own. That struck me then as pretty accurate. Most people are not cannibalistic, of course, but our economic system is, and most of the ruling elite are. These are the simple, ugly facts. And you certainly don’t have to be a Marxist, or even a leftist, to see that they are the facts of our society.
(See Howard Zinn, John Perkins and Michael Parenti; or Charles Dickens and William Blake - and no, things have not changed in the basic relationship between the people and the elite, in the past 150 years. Blake’s “dark Satanic mills” now produce your iPhones and iPads, for example. Why do you think Apple keeps all cameras, video recorders and journalists out of their factories in China? And Apple is now the biggest corporation in the world, and is the “leader” which all other corporations seek to emulate. It is a race to the bottom. And we are mere cattle in a chute, being led to the slaughterhouse. Cue Pink Floyd, Sheep.)
Neoclassical economics is dissociated from reality, which of course, is a textbook definition of psychosis, and clinical insanity. Under the global corporatist economy, under which we live, all things, and all of life, including plants, trees, animals, forests, wetlands, waterways, oceans, soil, ecosystems, and people, are viewed either as resources, from which to extract wealth, or as “externalities”, which means, they of no concern, they have no value, no worth, and they don’t matter. This is the psychology of a sociopath. And this is the nature of the globalized corporatist world.
If you give your life’s work, for decades, slogging in an office or a factory, there is no sincere thanks in the end, if it is a typical corporation. You are used up. All of the usable wealth has been extracted from you, in terms of your labour value. You can now be disposed of - preferably with your pension fund having already been stolen from you, as is increasingly becoming the corporate norm.
We have a minority of people now who are over-worked, and billions of people who are either unemployed or underemployed. The intelligent and humane thing to do would clearly be to share the work. If we only need a 20 hour work week, then that will be a boon to humanity. But of course, if we share the work, then we also have to share the wealth. The business elite who effectively control the global economy, as Swiss systems analysis has confirmed, above all, do not like to share, and they particularly do not want to share the land, the resources, the wealth, or, above all, the power. They are psychotic and sociopathic five-year-olds, in adult bodies. Cannibalistic, vampiric, predatory and sociopathic, ecocidal and genocidal, are all perfectly fitting, honest and accurate terms for the world’s ruling corporate elite. But to put it most succinctly, Vandana Shiva is right: they are thieves.
In the years since I heard that anthropologist speak, we have seen just how predatory and vampiric the corporate-state oligarchy really is. The corporate elite are obsessed with wealth extraction, quite simply - as well as with their own infantile sense of grandiosity, and their love of power. (Platform shoes for stunted souls.) People and the planet are mere objects for wealth extraction, quite simply. They, we, are disposable. That is cannibalistic. And surely, while we may not strive for an overnight utopia, we can at least do better than a cannibalistic society.
The global corporate-industrial empire is now in crisis, as is almost universally recognized; and it is, in fact, now in a slow motion state of collapse - one which could accelerate to free-fall, virtually at any moment. In short, the corporate-state oligarchy has devoured its own foundations. (See Daly and Cobb, Michael Hudson, Gerald Celente and Max Keiser.) The ruling elite know this, which is why they are so panicked, and are acting in such desperate ways. Their extreme actions stem from desperation, weakness and fear, not from strength. And when fear and hubris come together, you get a very dangerous, schizoid mix - as we are witnessing today, and in a very graphic display.
The oligarchy knows what is coming, and they are trying to make what they believe will be a Great Leap Forward, following in the footsteps of Chairman Mao - though they prefer the term, the Great Reset; only this time, they are attempting to make the leap from corporate neoliberalism, to corporate-socialist neo-feudalism. They will end up drowning in the chasm in between. But they may well succeed in the short term, at least in large pockets of the world - likely including the greater part of New England and the Great Lakes basin, the West coast of North America, from Vancouver to San Diego, and most of Great Britain and Europe, along with certain other countries. Their power base and control may even expand from there, but again, only temporarily. But whatever their desperate actions may entail, the collapse is now set in motion. This too, they are afraid may be a foregone conclusion - which is why the billionaires are fantasizing about colonizing Mars, while simultaneously, literally building doomsday bunkers, to protect themselves from the furious masses who may soon come for their heads, in revolt.
Good riddance, I say. Let them go to Mars. They can rebuild their empire of dust there, where there is little to despoil or destroy.
Either way, the system, and the empire, are already in the beginning stages of collapse.
The thought of a collapse of the global corporate-industrial system will sound terrifying to some people; and hopeful, if not liberating, to others. However we view it, this last of empires, the global neo-feudal corporate empire, is now a wounded predatory animal - and that makes it a particularly dangerous beast, even if it is a dying beast. Whether you respond by giving it a merciful coup de grace, or by getting out of the way of its fall, and its desperate flailing, whatever you do, don’t be complacent, do not remain paralyzed in disorientation and fear, and do not be passive. Taking a “wait and see” attitude now, would be tremendously unwise, to say the least. This is likely to get ugly.

Lessons from History - and The Great Liberation Ahead
All things in life proceed by cause and effect. This is not fatalism or determinism, because it does not preclude free will. In fact, since the nature of causality is interdependence, there is no unifocal linear causality: which means, every sentient being, and every human being, is a locus of power, a centre of power. We truly are co-creating our shared reality, at every moment of every day. There is no room there for fatalism, which is delusional, or illusions of powerlessness, which are also delusional, as well as infantile, just as there is no room for delusions of control. This means, we do have the power to change our future, and to create a better, cleaner, greener, more just, and freer world.
As Alice Walker said, “We are the ones we have been waiting for.”
Because all things arise due to causes and conditions; therefore, if we wish for freedom, justice, the healing of our world, and peace, then we must remove the causes and conditions which give rise to and perpetuate tyranny, injustice, imbalance, violence, strife and war. That means we must, above all, remove the illusions in our own minds, which give rise to these undesirable things; and also, and equally essential, we must remove the currently ruling corporate-fascist oligarchy from power, since they are the principle group who are upholding and perpetuating such an order.
It also means, if we want a better, cleaner, greener, more just, peaceful, democratic and free society, then we must create the causes and conditions for such a society to arise and be born.
These two necessary steps to the global transformation and liberation of our world are now in the process of being completed - by ourselves, by millions of us, all around the world. We will win, in the end, and the forces of freedom and renewal, will triumph over the forces of empire, oligarchy, fascism and predation. But it will not likely be a quick, overnight victory. Keep a long term perspective, as the Dalai Lama has advised. It is critically important to do so now. Keep a vision for a better world alive in your mind and in your heart. As Yogi Berra says, It ain’t over ‘till it’s over.
Every major event or shift in history has its lessons for humanity. What is the lesson of this present crisis, which I would describe as a global corporate-fascist take-over of humanity and the Earth? I would say that it is two things, which in truth amount to one, or different facets of the same thing.
We have had thousands of years of lessons in the nature of power, and in the results of an excessive concentration or over-centralization of power; or, put another way, we have had thousands of years of lessons in the nature of empire - which, by definition, is an over-centralization of power, based in a social model of domination and submission. That lesson, we had not sufficiently learned by the early 21st century. And it is true that if you don’t learn the lessons of history, you are doomed to repeat them. And we are now repeating the worst mistakes of our past - particularly, the mistakes embodied in the rise of the Nazis and the Soviet Union, which were, until now, the two worst expressions in history of a vast over-concentration of power, in the hands of a few ruling elites.
Therefore, because we did not learn the lesson sooner, we are now receiving one last great lesson in the nature of empire, and in what happens when we allow power to be overly concentrated and over-centralized in too few hands. It results in tyranny, in the destruction of freedom, constitutional democracy and human rights, in atrocities, systemic violence and systemic injustice, poverty and war. It results in a great compounding of human problems, not their solution, and it results in a great dehumanization of both the elite, and the people below.
This last of empires, which I have described as the global corporate-fascist empire, will fall. It will fall because it is devouring its own foundations, because of imperial over-reach, which all empires succumb to, fatally, and because it is radically at odds with human nature, with nature, and with reality itself.
It is clear that the global corporate oligarchy, which has now turned itself into a global corporate-fascist empire, is radically at odds with nature, despite the fact that it now paints itself green, and cannot stop itself from devouring the very ecological foundations which sustain it, and all life. For this reason, it will fall.
It is also clear that the new empire of global corporate-fascism is radically at odds with human nature - because human beings strive for a fullness and richness of life, and lived experience, which requires, as one of its primary conditions, the essential condition of freedom. That makes this empire, like all empires, but even more starkly so, radically at odds with human nature. For this reason also, this last of empires will fall.
There are also reasons from physics which will bring down, or at the least, severely cripple, this last of empires. That is, until free energy devices can be distributed to the people, if they are possible to create at all, we live in a world where there is an abundance of energy, and a material abundance in nature generally, provided it is not hoarded or monopolized, creating the situation of artificial scarcity, which, of course, is another core element to the very essence of empire itself; but while there is natural abundance on Earth, it is not limitless abundance. There are ecological and physical limits with which we have to contend. We can play games with ourselves, but we cannot play games with nature, without losing, and losing badly. And one of the related facts, which derives from the simple fact of natural limits, within the context of natural abundance, is that we have build our late-modern industrial society to run on, and be thoroughly dependent upon, fossil fuel energy - particularly, liquid fossil fuel energy, which can be easily transported, and which our entire global economy runs on: namely, diesel fuel. Since it is now undeniable that global oil production has peaked, having plateaued since 2005, and that a sharp decline in oil supplies will soon follow, even while demand continues to grow, therefore, the era of cheap and abundant fossil fuel energy is about to come to a close. That does not mean that we will run out of energy any time soon, but it does mean that the fossil fuel-dependent, global corporate-industrial empire, will soon see major disruptions, slowly unfolding and cascading systems failure, and a sharp and marked reduction in its ability to project power, and also a sharp reduction in terms of its range: of how much of the Earth’s surface it can control.
As to the pipe dream that renewable energy will take up the slack, seamlessly and globally replacing fossil fuel energy with no disruptions, that ship has already sailed. As Richard Heinberg, James Kunstler and John Michael Greer have argued and made clear, the transition from a fossil fuel energy and transportation infrastructure, to a solar and wind renewable energy and transportation infrastructure, was something we needed to begin, on a full-out, war-level effort, 30 years ago. We chose instead to allow our energy and resources, and human energies, to be yoked for an exponentially growing wealth and power for the global corporate elite instead. We have now missed the boat, and the window of opportunity is now closed. What people don’t realize, is that it requires massive amounts of energy to build and install the new renewable energy and transportation infrastructure. Now that the era of cheap and abundant fossil fuel energy is rapidly closing, we simply will not have the energy resources to both power our daily global economy, and simultaneously invest the massive energy required to build a replacement infrastructure. Renewable energy will be a big help in localized pockets, yes; but it is too late to transition the entire global economy, or this ruling corporate empire, to run on renewable energy systems. That means a severe energy crisis is now on the horizon. It was not inevitable, but it is now.
And no, nuclear power cannot replace fossil fuels - setting aside the fact that nuclear is now more expensive than solar or wind, and the fact that there is no safe way to mine, transport, process or refine uranium, or to operate nuclear reactors, as Fukushima proved, having irradiated the entire Pacific Basin for the next 100,000 years - because (a) nuclear power is extremely expensive, by comparison to fossil fuels, and (b) because it is not portable, like oil and diesel fuel.
And no, we do not have enough rare earth metals to build enough batteries to store nuclear-generated energy, in order to run two billion internal combustion vehicles on nuclear power. So let’s try to deal with the real world here. Techno-fantasies and hubris got us into an ecological crisis - they will not get us out of it.
Some people will of course say that we can do space mining. But this is another George Jetson techno-fantasy. Yes, space mining is probably achievable, and in 200 years, if we do not destroy ourselves before then, we will have an abundance of minerals from space. But it is likely going to be 2050, at the earliest, if not 2100, before we have major scale mining in space. That means we will have an acute shortage of rare earth metals for batteries soon. And that means, we will have a severe energy crisis spanning the next 30-70 years or more, until we achieve the means of major scale space mining.
That, or we take the more sensible approach, which is to simplify, radically reduce our consumption, and particularly our energy consumption - at least in the more affluent parts of the globe - and learn to live within our means. But that would require basic sanity, and a willingness to deal with reality: two traits which the modern world is short on, and the elite are utterly devoid of.
By living more simple lives, by the way, we do not have to return to caves, or to a romantic primitivism. It means that we can heal our planet, and stop plundering and destroying it, while feeding humanity, ending global poverty, and living richer quality of lives, with a greater sense of purpose, meaning and community, and greater satisfaction and joy.
The solution to our problems does not lie in technology and authoritarianism, as the elite and their apparatchiks fervently but delusionally believe. The solutions to our problems lie in a combination of freedom, cooperation and simplicity; a shift in attitudes, consciousness and culture; and the defeat of oligarchy, elitism, empire and totalitarianism; conjoined with small-scale, decentralized, community-based, local regenerative agriculture.
In short, it is not technology and elites which will save us: it is a shift in perspective, a uniting of the people, and an embracing of our power. It is human hearts, minds, and hands, which will heal our world, and liberate humanity in the process.
The energy crisis may not cause a complete collapse of the global corporate oligarchy, although that is a definite possibility; but it is certain to severely weaken it, and to greatly reduce its power over the coming decades ahead. That spells a giant opening and opportunity for humanity, to break free from its stranglehold, and to create the seedbeds for a new and better society.
Lastly, the corporate-fascist empire is at odds with reality itself. The nature of being and reality is interdependence, and that means that every being, and every human being, is a locus of agency and of power. But the empire, especially in its new globalist-fascist phase, seeks to reduce all of causality and all agency or power to one central point, in the hands of a global elite of a few hundred individuals, centred in Davos, at the World Economic Forum. Reality, however, always bats last. Trying to impose unifocal linear causality on the world - meaning, all power globally is gathered in one centre - when reality itself is radically in opposition to it, where mutual causality, multi-polarity and interdependence are the very fabric of being, is the dream of a neurotic child, or of delusional elites who are lost in their egomania, and their inflated sense of infantile grandiosity. Reality will win in the end, even if the delusional, would-be god-kings manage to build a towering ziggurat, stretching into the clouds. Their foundations, and their empire, are a castle made of sand - and the tide is coming in.
What humanity needs to learn now, are several things: one is the grave danger of over-centralizing power; one is the unity of the human family, and indeed, all life on Earth; and one is the interdependence of all life. As we unite humanity to fight off, resist, and ultimately defeat the new wave of imperialists and fascists, our awakening to these three central facts will naturally accelerate, and will come to fruition. And it is already happening now.
What we need to learn, perhaps above all, is that empire is a mold which must be shattered.
(See the Book of Daniel, on that prospect, which I would say is not only a possibility, but an inevitability, and one which is on the horizon now.)
It is not enough simply to defeat this latest of empires. We must shatter the mold of empire completely, break the spell, and be free of empire completely - all empires, and the pattern or habit of empire itself. This is the awakening which is arising now. Our job is to nourish and to speed the renaissance which is now emerging, and to defeat the currently ruling corporate oligarchs and fascist technocracy, to make way for something far, far better yet to come.
As Arundhati Roy said,
"A new world is not only possible, it is already being born.
On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

Collapse and Renewal
Keep it in mind that the industrial-capitalist system is in the early stages of collapse. This is very important to remember. Returning to “normal” is not only an unsatisfying prospect: it is also now an impossible one. (See Ronald Wright, Jared Diamond, Margaret Atwood, Richard Heinberg, Helena Norberg-Hodge, James Kunstler and Dmitry Orlov.) That does not mean that we should accept the “new normal” of global corporate fascism which is now being imposed upon us, of course. It means:
We must create our own new normal - and now.
We are going to have to create parallel structures, parallel working models, parallel economies, and networks of trade and mutual aid, and parallel communities and societies, if we want to weather the difficult transition gracefully, or with some degree of stability and peace. It is unclear whether it will be popular revolution or systems collapse which will bring down the global corporatist empire first, but one of them certainly will. Our job is to hasten and facilitate, and catalyze the transition to a more just, clean, green, regenerative, and free society. By building parallel structures, systems, communities and societies, therefore, we are not only strengthening the foundations of freedom, and healing the planet and ourselves; we are also sowing the seedbeds for the society which is to come. It is important now that we create many and diverse islands of freedom (onshore or offshore), and islands of healing for the people and the planet. From those tiny islands of freedom and basic sanity, we will, begin to heal and to liberate our world.
Above all, it must be said again: question everything, and embrace your power.
Know in your heart that freedom will reign in the end.
It will.

Important strategy key here:
I would urge people to read, save to USB, and share widely, the brief article I wrote and published on WordPress, which you can find in two seconds with a web search: Flash-Drive Revolution. We are going to need the simple but powerful strategy which is contained in this article - if, that is, we want freedom to be a reality, and not just a wish, or a dream. Please, do it now, before you get busy and forget. And save this article which you just read, to USB as well - and share it everywhere.

Listen, I would say above all, to the leading constitutional lawyer in Canada:
Kim Iversen of The Hill has done a good job of questioning the ever-changing official narrative, unlike the major media. Unfortunately, she did not fully understand the subject, even one month ago (in October 2021). The data is now clear, as even the Prime Minister of Britain has admitted: the injections do not prevent people from becoming infected, and most critically, they do NOT prevent the vaccinated from transmitting the virus. This explains why countries with the highest rates of vaccination, such as Isreal, where 90% of the population have had three doses, are seeing extremely high rates of transmission and hospitalization. See Dr. Robert Malone, co-inventor of the mRNA vaccine technology, for the detailed science, for those who value actual science over dogma and group-think.
My response to Kim, as I wrote to her, is as follows. Note that as soon as Kim ends her talk and the other two dimwits start to speak, the intelligence level of the discussion goes from an A grade, to a flat F, and straight into the toilet.
Too bad you have to work with idiots, Kim. But, watching *your* show two weeks later, the seemingly brain dead duo appear to demonstrate some flicker of grey matter activity, so there is hope. In fact, the blond dude actually took a thoughtful and principled stand, which I was very heartened to see, and the dimmest of the three even made sense, although, it is important to remember that some principles are, or should be, non-negotiable. Torture, rape and slavery, for example, can not be reduced to an evaluation of how pragmatic they may be. Some principles, you fight and even die for. Basic, universal human rights, is one of them. If they are abandoned or destroyed, then the Constitution and Bill of Rights are destroyed, and it is fascism on the near horizon.
On the video below, and the move by the Austrian government to even more authoritarian measures, among other reasons, we have to ask ourselves this. At what point do we call it like it is? This is fascism. This is a power-grab. Will we wait until people are being taken away to detention centres, and still none dare call it fascism? But that too, is already happening. It’s happening now in Australia. People who are claimed to be infected - according to PCR tests which the Canadian constitutional lawyer, Rocco Galati states flatly are fraudulent, and utterly unreliable - are now being taken to camps. When do we call it like it is? This is the begnnings of fascism. Anyone with a functioning brain can see it clearly by now, if not from the very beginning.
Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of the mRNA vaccine technology, explains the recent scientific data - and why mandatory vaccines are, in his words, “bad science, bad medicine, and bad ethics”.
Jimmy Dore is being viciously attacked by the liberals, and what I would call the faux-left. Why do they hate him? He speaks uncomfortable truths, which they don’t want anyone saying. Their vile ad hominem attacks on him are utterly unwarranted, of course, and are themselves despicable. TYT, Sam Seder, the New Humanist, or whatever this formerly thoughtful and intelligent young zealot calls his broadcast - all of them are attacking Jimmy Dore, more than ever. It started when Jimmy questioned whether Hillary Clinton was anything but a sleaze bag on hire to Wall Street. That ruffled many feathers, and made some people sworn enemies. Then Jimmy Dore and others questioned the war in Syria. That got the liberals and the faux-left virtually frothing at the mouth. Then he started questioning the covid narrative, and its attendant authoritarianism. That has made the liberals and the faux-left ready for a veritable burning at the stake. Then Jimmy Dore questioned - questioned! - the holy Noam Chomsky. And Jimmy even went so far as to say that Chomsky has now lost his mind. I would entirely agree - and I wrote a defence of Noam Chomsky, just this past summer, before he lost his mind. But you cannot question our holy wars in Syria, or our holy war on Covid; and you cannot question the holy Pope of the Left, who has now turned into the anti-Pope, if not a minion of the metaphorical anti-Christ, and certainly, a witting or unwitting minion of the new police state. You listen to what Jimmy Dore and Aaron Mate have to say. I can’t think of anything they said here that I did not agree with. They make perfect, eminent sense. Chomsky has indeed lost his mind. Mind you, so has most of the Left, and virtually all of the liberal “centre” - which has now become the extreme right, by the way.

“The Great Conspiracy Debate” - What matters: culture, systems, or elites? All three, of course, need to be considered. Why is this a debate?!
(The following footnote I am in the process of expanding into a full article - watch for it.)
This video discussion below examines some of the various views thoughtful people have about what is going on now. Three main speakers offer different perspectives in the first section, and each one has a different area of emphasis. One emphasizes culture, one emphasizes systems, and one emphasizes the role of key players, or elites. The three areas are not in conflict, however. Human society is built upon consciousness and culture. That is the foundation. Upon that foundation are built systems, structures and institutions. And yes, there are also powerful groups and individuals, or power elites, to use sociological terms, who greatly influence both. It is always consciousness and culture which has the greater power, as I argued in my book, Enlightened Democracy. That does not mean, of course, that we should ignore the systems or the power elites. The intelligent response is to address all three. The discussion here is helpful, however, even though it gets unnecessarily bogged down in arguing who is right, and which of the three layers we should focus on. Again, we must address all three, or simply admit that we are not dealing with the real world.
James Corbett weighs in, lucid as ever, and states simply that this video discussion is primarily a debate about strategy, and he sensibly concludes that there is no single recipe, blueprint or silver bullet for creating a better world, but that instead, we must each find our own way of taking meaningful action to make the world a better place. He is perfectly right.
In short: We need people growing food. We need people pressuring governments, business and other institutions. We need people building parallel structures, networks and communities. We need communication and discussion that raises awareness. We need health care professionals with integrity, who practice the Hippocratic Oath, of First, do no harm; and who understand and uphold the founding ethical principle of informed voluntary consent. We need educators, scholars and intellectuals who understand the difference between education and indoctrination, and between critical thinking, versus group-think and dogma. We need people analyzing the problems, and at all three levels - consciousness & culture; systems, structures and institutions; and yes, also analyzing the influence of power elites and elite groups. And we furthermore need discussions and reflections on both vision and strategy, as well. No single element in this mix will suffice. Suffice it to say, we need all of the above.
As an aside, or footnote, I would say it is likely best, if thoughtful, intelligent people stop using the term conspiracy altogether. It simply scares people away, and muddies the waters. But that is my view. You decide your on own views, wording, and approach, of course!

Inspiration and hope:
I would like to introduce more elements of hope and inspiration here, because while serious and sober reflection and analysis are of course critically needed and essential, hope and inspiration are also essential. Without them, people succumb to cynicism and despair, and nothing good comes from that. In fact, very dark things tend to come from that. I certainly do not take the challenges confronting us lightly, as I think I have made perfectly clear. But a little bit of lightness, a little bit, even of humour, and a large measure of hope and inspiration, are also critical now. The following two films offer a healthy dose of these. Obviously, living on a sailboat, or joining an Amish community, is not for everyone. But these films offer a funny, uplifting and inspiring reminder, that we can in fact confront and go beyond our mental limitations, in order to make whatever kinds of changes in our lives that we feel would be positive. After a long, hard look at some very disturbing trends, I think that a little lightness, humour and inspiration are most definitely in order. Here are the films:

Seasteading:
Here is another idea that is rapidly gathering momentum, and is already being implemented; and it is one more option, particularly within the context of creating land-based and sea-based parallel structures - that is:
The following video, which I can’t seem to get the link to post from, may seem esoteric, especially in comparison to the in-depth political-economic and sociological analyses above, and the terms of reference may be off-putting to some, but the speaker has some very valuable things to say. She is both extremely practical in her thinking, as well as expansive in her view. Don’t be put off by elements of her talk that are not to your liking. Her main point is that the primary obstacles to freedom are the barriers in our own mind. Yes, there are outer obstacles to freedom, self-evidently, but they can be overcome, if we are willing and able to overcome our own mental prison and chains, which are the first thing - not eh only thing, but the first thing - to be overcome; or to begin to overcome, at least. (Balance outer work with inner work, for maximum results.) And while there are outer obstacles that are very real, she is right: the primary obstacles to freedom are within our own minds and belief systems. Outer systems and powers ultimately have only as much power as we give them. They can be overcome. Counter and cut through these inner obstacles, and the keys to freedom will be more readily found, and utilized. She touches on the philosophical, spiritual, psychological, sociological, historical, and the political-economic, along with the inter-personal, and the very, very practical elements of seeking and creating greater freedom - and she does it very well.
